My Unstyled Life: Table Situation

Have you come across the Instagram community #tablesituation? There are so many wonderfully inspiring images on there. My own table situation is rather different. As much as possible we try to keep it clear of items except for a candle and maybe some flowers. Sometimes my notes are left scattered all over it, but I really do try. The motivating factor is that with a clear table, there are endless possibilities. Wholesome family meals shared at the table aren’t distracted by clutter. Patrick and I can work across from each other in the glow of a flickering candle (and our laptop screens). It also means that when I have an hour (or realistically, thirty minutes) to take some photos I have a clear surface on which to work. It’s this sort of table situation that really works for us. A simple, humble table, kept free of constant clutter, helps create so much magic in moments and memories, captured and otherwise.
