My Unstyled Life: By candlelight

I love candles but my collection has become more considered. Locally made, glass carriers. Or beeswax sheets hand-rolled by me as needed. Little tealights re-filled using beeswax (bought from the local farmers market) and then melted and poured into old tealight tins. But my favourite discovery is that I can take these candle carriers to my favourite florist Twigs n Twine and the lovely creative behind Lighthouse Candles is happy to re-fill them! If you’re in Dunedin, I strongly recommend this option. And if you’re further afield, perhaps enquiring with a local candle maker about the possibility of them re-filling vessels for you. It’s such a wonderful step towards minimising waste and items in your home as well as supporting local and being intentional with your purchases.

I realised recently when I had to move everything from my study/craft room to make way for my baby’s nursery that I have way too much stuff that I just dont need including my candle collection which has gotten out of control! I am all for quality over quantity and love the idea of refilling candle containers as well 🙂
