My Unstyled Life: Rafa’s toys. An large pic’s peanut butter bottle filled with chick peas, pine cones, rosemary and lavender. It smells heavenly when opened, but I leave it closed (tightly) for Rafa to play with and drum on.

Sometimes I wonder if Rafa is missing out on something (I’m not sure what I think he’s missing out on) because he doesn’t have toys. He’s happy playing with the bag that has our recycling that sits by the door. More than playing with things, we find that he’d much rather be moving and engaging with us. Would he play more with those plastic, brightly coloured toys with flashing lights? Would he learn more? Perhaps. Perhaps  not. I’m comforted that he has his whole life to learn and dabble in consumerism. For the moment we’ll continue filling this bottle with treasures we found during our adventures.
