Girl In The Red Coat

September 23, 2015

We’ve been experiencing weather that’s crazier than normal. I have come to appreciate tolerate this about Dunedin. In fact that red coat in these pictures was purchased when I visited in the middle of summer a few years ago. Within a few hours of arriving, with a suitcase full of summer clothes, I was caught in a rain storm. The next day a hail storm and then things just went downhill. This red coat was the only thing we could find that was closest to my size (it was a 10 – still a long way off what I’d normally wear!) and I couldn’t do much about the colour. I was freezing but over the years I’ve come to enjoy the pop of colour it provides. This was just a simple outfit perfect for a cafe date with Patrick. I do like the illusion of ‘nothing under it’ that the coat and its length offers but I am wearing a pair of shorts and a knit.

This lovehate camera bag is a recent purchase. I worry about things slipping out of the top but I couldn’t pass on the shape or the fact that it’s made with vegetable tanned leather. I don’t own anything like it and I’ve been enjoying using it this past month.

There’s been a lot happening in these parts and I’ll eventually get to it on the blog but if you know me you know my party is on Instagram. Have you seen our news on there? You can find me @alifeunstyled or here.
